Our Directors

ESI was founded by Mark Cunningham in 2018, a proud Bangerang man with a deep commitment to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through education, training, and meaningful employment pathways.

With experience across Indigenous business development, workforce strategy, and major infrastructure projects, Mark saw the urgent need for culturally safe, purpose-driven training solutions that deliver real outcomes for both community and industry. His vision became the foundation for ESI — an organisation built to create lasting impact.

Mark was later joined by his brother, Dean Cunningham, who brought extensive leadership and strategic expertise to the business. Together, their combined strengths have helped grow ESI into a respected national organisation known for integrity, innovation, and community-led impact.
